Each year District 17 awards grants to local non-profit organizations through an application process. This year, an unprecedented number of applications were received, making the selection process very difficult. After a lengthy discussion and review of the projects applied for, the RTOERO District 17 executive announces the following successful recipients of a local grant:

2. Candlelighters Simcoe
3. Empower Simcoe
4. Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka
5. International Teams Canada
6. The Goldenaires Seniors Choir
7. Society of St. Vincent de Paul
8. Mother Teresa of Calcutta Refuge
9. Big Brothers Big Sisters Orillia
10. Coldwater Canadiana Heritage Museum

Congratulations to these groups for the work that they are doing to support seniors, children and the community. RTOERO members are involved as volunteers in each of these projects. Cheque presentations will take place over the next few weeks. Thank you to all of the groups who sent in an application. The deadline to apply for the 2025 District 17 local grants is December 1, 2024. Applications will soon be available on the district17rtoero.ca website.
