Unit 1 Capturing Spring Event

May 10, 2025

It was hard to plan an outing for spring this year.  The ice storm, followed by an extreme wind event’ littered the trails near Elmvale with fallen trees.  So a spring outing that was originally planned for May 8, a walk and bike ride from Heritage Park in Elmvale, had to be relocated to the nearby Tiny Marsh.

Some of the bikers rode on the dirt paths through the marsh while others went north on the nearby Trans Canada Trail.  The walkers were thrilled with sights and sounds of birds as they traversed the various trails and boardwalks.  The weather was cold but the shelter provided by the trees made the day great for this activity.  This location could easily be scheduled for an annual visit according to the participants.

The hungry crew of 26 returned to the Presbyterian Church in Elmvale to socialize more and be treated to a lunch of soup, sandwiches and dessert.  Organizer: George Allen
