The South Asian Network of Simcoe County received a cheque for $1,000 for a project that will celebrate the Indigenous Legacy of New Tecumseth. At the annual kite festival in June, a mural will be created by local artist Lisa Rosati (pictured) to honour the First Nations of New Tecumseth.

The Guthrie Women’s Institute received a grant of $300 to support their project entitled “Remember Simcoe Boys Who Died in WWII. This project is to highlight the role of Canadians in World War II and raise awareness of “why” we should “remember”.

The Mariposa Arts Theatre Foundation received a grant of $1,000 to allow them to purchase and install an automatic door opening system to make it easier for seniors to enter their building in Orillia.
